City of West Palm Beach

The coastal City of West Palm Beach is located in South Florida, approximately 70 miles north of Miami. The city spans approximately 58 square miles, with approximately 110,000 residents. It is the county seat of Palm Beach County and one of the three main cities in South Florida. Long a place where people of vision have brought their dreams, built new enterprises, and achieved success, the City of West Palm Beach is a regional center of commerce offering an environment where dreams can still come true. Born among affluence, West Palm Beach has always been, and still is, a place where men and women roll up their sleeves and get things done, yet without the hustle, hassle, and hardship found elsewhere in South Florida. Its government, business community, and citizenry unite to build a positive, progressive business environment that is supportive and cooperative, which combined with its outstanding lifestyle and easy workability, creates Florida’s best metropolitan location, where professional and personal lives both flourish, and where dreams still come true.

Knight Foundation

The Knight Foundation is a national foundation with strong local roots, investing in journalism, in the arts, and in the success of cities where brothers John S. and James L. Knight once published newspapers. The foundation’s goal is to foster informed and engaged communities. The Knight brothers believed that a well-informed community could best determine its own true interests and was essential to a well-functioning, representative democracy. The brothers pursued those beliefs, building and running one of America’s largest and most successful 20th century newspaper companies. The Knights formed Knight Foundation to promote excellence in journalism and the success of the communities in which they worked. The company was sold, and the foundation, ever evolving, carries on this work.
